What does the flag of Afghanistan mean?

The emblem is a mosque with a mihrab and minbar, or pulpit, with two flags, one on each side. The colours black, red, and green are common in Afghan flags; black representing the past, red the blood shed in the fight for independence, and green representing either hope for the future, agricultural prosperity or the country's Islamic faith.
